You know those amazing tapas that you'd love to make in your own kitchen? Well in this Spanish lesson you'll learn the lingo and get to know great recipes.
In this unique foodie and linguistic experience explore tapas from different regions of Spain and let your taste buds tour Spain with dished inspired by Waterstones' recipe book collection. Eat a selection of tapas and sangria prepared by the residential chef at Waterstones Tottenham Court Road, speak Spanish with qualified language teachers and discover the regions with Topdeck travel. Here's a glimpse of the night’s plan
6.30pm Arrive and settle in with a mini challenge.
7pm Introduction to the lingo with team tasks guided by a qualified teacher (the structured bit).
7.40pm Get stuck into naming the ingredients, tasting an incredible selection of FREE tapas while exploring the recipes and using your newly gained language skills to give your opinions (the informal, social bit).
8.30pm Show off your new language skills to the class and get feedback from the Spanish crew (the show-off bit).
9pm Go home with a vocabulary list the length of your arm ready to flaunt your skills at work the next day (job done).
The Spanish you'll learn
- Name the recipes that you taste.
- Describe their ingredients.
- Give your opinion.
- Recognise gender and definite articles.
This Spanish night is designed to help complete beginners and those with the basics (less than a year's study) get to grips with some of the lingo.
If you're an intermediate or advanced level speaker you'll have fun and practice your existing skills but if you want to leave with tonnes of new vocab you might prefer one of our events planned with intermediate and advanced level speakers in mind.
