Summer 2026 immersive Charlar improvers - Salsa music and Latin social history theme

Wednesdays 6.30-7.30pm* Wednesday 19 August - 15 September, Camden ten classes, 12 hours

In this friendly five-week class for improvers (A2)*:

• Learn and practise Spanish from salsa lyrics.

• Build confidence speaking in Spanish.

• Learn about Latin social histories of London.

• Get feedback from qualified teacher.

• App and worksheets to practise at home.

• Join friendly school socials or programmes in Spain.

Each class we sit together to explore a song with vocabulary and friendly conversation prompts. The final class is in an immersive walking tour exploring latin social histories in London.

Unit theme: Salsa music-themed conversations and immersive local Latin London historical walk around a London borough

Wednesday 19, 26 August, 2, 9 September 6.30-7.30pm and immersive historical walk Tuesday 15 September 6.30-8.30pm (5 classes).

Immersive event costs ALL INCLUDED (worth £30).

*We will practise language grammar as part of the conversation linked to the early stage of learning (opinions, reflexive verbs, present tense irregular verbs, the present perfect tense, direct object pronouns).

You will be able to:

- Impersonal expressions with si and cuando

- describing allergies and pains, intolerance and sickness.

We will work with he Gente 2 B1 textbook.You have the option of buying the accompanying workbook if you wish.

Speaking class with a range of short exercises and games based on core skills building sentences, vocabulary, irregular and reflexive verb recall plus topic of art Tuesdays 6, 13, 20, 27 October 7.45-8.45pm and immersive arts workshop with local artist Tuesday 3 November 6.30-8.30pm.

Herbal remedies theme and cooking class

Speaking class with a range of short exercises and games based on core skills building sentences, vocabulary, irregular and reflexive verb recall plus topic of plants Tuesdays 17, 24 November, 1, 8 7.45-8.45pm and immersive herbal remedy class Tuesday 15 December with local herbal practitioner 6.30-8.30pm.
